"JUST A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US"
Embrace was officially established in the Spring of 2012.
The founding members were Stephen Andrews, Ian Morrow & Mark Currie and while they had already been involved in providing Socials & Ceilidhs since the early 2000's across Northern Ireland they came together in 2012 to hit the road as a new group.
Our very first endevour however was not related to socials or ceilidhs, it was to take on a Monthly Christian Youth Rally held in Portadown Town Hall. This monthly meeting had commenced in September 2011 under the banner of Witness NI, which was an outreach group run by one of our founding members - Ian Morrow. This Christian Outreach work remains a key part of who we are to this day.
After the Youth Rally's future had been secured, we undertook our very first public social in the Jethro Centre, Lurgan. While we were nervous if any one would turn up or not, the night turned out to be a great success, with crowds bigger than we could have ever imagined, we knew then we could keep this venture going for a while longer.
Since then we have toured up and down the country providing over 1500 events to date, with locations ranging from Community, Church & Orange Halls, to Hotels, Tents & even Fields. Today, our entertainment takes the form of Traditional Social Games, Scottish & Irish Ceilidh Dances including all the well-known Line Dances. The range of events that this entertainment can be applied to are in the following headings;
